I think you picked twelve great players, but your obviously a little younger than some of us.
I would add to your list:
Spencer Haywood (despite the drug problems at the end of his career) Bob Pettit (a stronger version of Larry Bird) Bob Cousy K.C. Jones Rick Barry (the best shooter to ever play the game) Pete Marevich (with three point arc, he would have scored 50ppg.) Bob Lanier Bill Walton (before injuries and senility took their toll) Earl Monroe Jack Twyman (go-to guy on team with Big O)
They look quaint in the old black and white videos, but they could do things with a basketball that would translate well into any era.

O'Neal is twice the presence than Hakeem even at his prime.

Hakeem led an otherwise average team to two championships. During the two years Jordan was playing baseball, Indiana, Orlando, and New York couldn't cash in on their opportunities.
O'Neal choked big time against the Bulls and the 'Doberman Defense'.
O'Neal deserves credit for his ring, but the Lakers had a lot else going for them.
