Excuse my lateness for this but my all-time Bulls roster (which also features a question I have for the newsgroup):

Center: Cartwright SF: Pippen SG: Jordan PG: Pax PF: Hm...this was my toughest decision...Rodman or Grant. Rodman was the superior rebounder, obviously, but Grant was more well-rounded (better scorer, etc.). I might give the nod to Grant simply because he's younger. Or Rodman, since he's 'tougher.'

Who would you folks go with?

Well, Mr. Toupe, you are at least giving Jordan his props here, but how can you forget Jerry Sloan? I like Pax, but Sloan was the heart and soul of the Bulls for the franchise's early years. Heck, I'd take Stormin' Norman Van Lier at point before I'd take Pax. Why not put Bob Love or Chet the Jet Walker on the team?

Perhaps the list was of those he'd seen play.

Must be a case of premature balding.

Cartwright is certainly the best Bulls center since Artis Gilmore, who played 6 seasons in Chicago and was an all-star in 4 of them.

Sure why not.

For a modern all-Bulls team, I'd take Harper over Paxson. For an all-time team hard to argue with Bob Love and Jerry Sloan, even though neither was a true point guard.

A good comparison is Grant 93-94 against Rodman 95-96, easily their best years with the Bulls. But Rodman's brings more hustle and energy and was a downright nasty defender, so you can't go wrong with the Worm. And I always thought Grant was afraid of contact on the offensive end ... kind of like a shorter Garnett with half of the skills.

I'd go with the following:

coach: Phil Jackson 97-98 (basically the older the better)

gm: Krause of the middle to late 80s, who made many outstanding moves to better the team.

arena: United Center over Chicago Stadium (only because of the statue)

bench-warming comic relief guy: James 'Buddha' Edwards no contest.

mascot: I don't remember the older mascots, but Benny the Bull looks almost as mean as a cross between Barney and one of the Teletubbies.

rilvalry: Bulls-Pistons during the beat-up Jordan era.

Rodman hair color: tough one, but I will have to go with green, since it made him look like an even bigger psychotic nutball than usual.

I think Rodman could be more effective in any given game, but I have to go with Grant, simply for reliability. Rodman always made me nervous and worried that he might do something stupid and get kicked out of the game.

Yeah. Im guessing his list of all-time bench players would start with Hanson.
