I just heard from WBBM radio that Corey Benjamin of the Bulls got arrested this morning by the Chaicgo Police. He was charged with domestic battery for allegedly beating up his girlfriend.

I wonder if this could lead to him being the odd man out when the Bulls make their final cuts. Toby Bailey has shown some promise in the pre-season games so far. Besides, Benjamin has been given enough chances to show his stuff and hasn't taken any advantages of it so far. What his contract status? He may have a guaranteed contract and that may also make a difference in deciding who gets cut.

He slap her once, left no scars, and she did not require medical treatment. While it might have been a minor confrontation, he will be forever labeled a wife-beater because she is a woman. It surprises me how idiotic some people can be, and Corey Benjamin should have known the consequences.

Benjamin is in his final year of his contract, so cutting him wouldn't be much of a waste. Neither him nor Bailey will ever amount to much, and whoever makes the team would be spending most of their time in the IR. I assume Krause won't make any moves until more info is released, and Benjamin explains

Yeah, but it screws up our chances of getting the good citizenship award. Next thing you know our players will be wearing corn rows. I just hope Krause makes sure that he can still subtract 4.00 from 5.00 and get a correct answer. Unc

Unless Corey Benjamin started acting like Quentin Dailey, I don't think it should affect his chances of being on the team. Since he 'innocent until proven guilty' etc., it would show loyalty not to kick him while he is down. Besides, they could always wait until things cool down and maybe get something in trade for him. If he isn't showing improvement over last year, he should be cut even if he gets the Lady Byng trophy.
