I would like to think that the Bulls will win nearly 40 games this year and make the playoffs, but the prospects are really rather dim.

Let's face it, the Bulls will be lucky to win very many games early on. Figure that they will be about 5-15 at best through the first quarter of the season, improving to 12-29 at the midway point. If they win half their games in the second half (wouldn't that be something?), that leaves them at 33-49. Good enough for last place in the east, or thereabouts, but with the promise of better days ahead.

Look at it another way. The Bulls will probably still be rather bad on the road, say 11-30. They will need to go 21-20 at home just to reach 33 wins. This would make them competitive in virtually all their home games and half their road games. But they would still be a last place team.

The good news is they would have another crack at the number one pick, who I am sure would be a power forward.

33 wins should put them ahead of Cleveland, Detroit and Atlanta in the Central and Washington in the Atlantic. It would also probably put them right on the heals of Boston and New Jersey. But I think they'll have problems winning more then 25 games. They have little experience (which usually equates to high turnovers and piss-poor defense) and poor depth. Plus an inexperienced rookie PG running the show who is being forced to learn the position on the job. Those 3 factors rarely turn into many wins at the NBA level.

The #1 pick will most likely be high-school center E.Curry.

I don't know about you guys, but I think Cleveland may win 40+ games this year!
