The Chicago newspapers have pointed to a battle between Benjamin and Bailey for the last guard spot. I wouldn't be too disappointed to see them both cut. With Mercer, Artest, and Hoiberg playing the '2' guard and backing up at the small forward, I can only see keeping either if they are doing something in practice that the fans aren't aware of.

They should keep all three rookie PGs until they have been tested more in league competition. If they wind up with a surplus of talent at the position, maybe they could use one in trade for inside help.

They may also decide to cut Goodrich and Voskuhl, but they need more inside help. They should keep a roster spot open for another center off waivers or in a minor trade. Bagaric is the only Bull center that is not undersized and who knows if he has game.

And If Joe Smith becomes available, they definitely won't need Benjamin or Bailey.

Without Benjamin, the Bulls run the risk of having a shortage of slashers on the team, especially if Hoiberg's injury doesn't go away. Benjamin will probably take the role that Chris Carr had last year.

Sounds about right. If all 3 of them turn out to be worthy of significant NBA minutes, one of them has to be traded, even if it is Drew.

Only if Smith is more versatille than a swiss army knife by getting minutes at every position except point guard.
