Horace Grant vs. Elton Brand

At last count, Horace Grant is getting more All-Star ballots (193,839) than Elton Brand (192,993). Why???

Boy I didn't know that. A good argument for not letting the fans vote for All-Stars........

Hmmmm.......26-12 world champs vs. 6-34 world chumps maybe??

I'll bet you that

A. The Lakers aren't drawing that much better than the Bulls even still

B. Laker fans, who cant be bothered to show up on time or stay for the whole game, generally can't be bothered

The main reason is that Brand gets almost no national exposure. The unwatchaBULLS have been televised only 1 time this whole season on TBS and TNT. OTOH , the Lakers probably get televised 3-4 times a month. Let's face it.....there is no interesting story to print about this team. Brand is a solid player, but unless he becomes a superstar or commits a felony he's just not gonna get a lot of press on this team.. Since you can vote on the web,it's easy to see how this can happen. Unc

But none of that matters. It only matters where he is among the East

That's just the way the voting goes, you don't have to earn your spot on the All Star team, look at players like Grant Hill & Penny Hardaway. They havn't earned the number of votes they've received, at least not this season.

So what. Neither will be voted in as starters while Brand will be chosen as a reserve and Grant will be forgotten.

And by the way, Brand is a superstar power forward. Name one better in either

Tim Duncan and Chris Webber for starters.

I knew someone would bite on this. Webber in his second year was a lost soul. Duncan on the other hand was and still is awesome . But he is already has superstar if not best player in the league status. If Brand is his class I rest my case.
