If I were Krause, I would immediately release a statement to the effect of 'We have absolutely no interest in signing Mr. overrated Joe Smith.' Or else, the same crap will happen all over again. After (or if) it becomes evident that Smith is leaving Minnesota, everyone will start speculating that he is going to the Bulls because no other team can offer as much money. Then he doesn't, and every single sports writer will add more insult to the already overbooked 'make fun of the Bulls who can't sign anyone' bandwaggon.

And I can't take any more abuse by David Aldridge and many others who devote more coverage to the Bulls now than in their championship seasons; but for the wrong reasons.

Basically, it is true that if Smith wants the most money, he goes to Chicago for 6 million to play center. But he can go to Miami for 3.88 mill and play the same position, but on a team that is guaranteed to compete for the Eastern Conference title. He also has the option of signing for the 2.25 exception, which several teams still have, including the Lakers (I think). He can also sign with the Clippers, who are a few dollars under the cap.

Truthfully, I con't see him coming here OR Krause really making a big push for him anyway. I don't see how he quite fits in with what we are doing here. He's just going to take PT away from younger players and he probably won't account for many wins by being here. If he DOES come here it will probably be for a one-year stop-over before he moves on to what he percieves as greener pastures. I basically don't see any point to having him here.......

That wouldn't be a bad idea. As far as Im concerned Smith can take his 38% from the field and be overpaid elsewhere. If the Bulls sign him to a one year deal it would be a major indication of how out of control the franchise is.

It would be a rather vicious move by the NBA office if they don't give the Heat their injury exception. I don't see one single reason to suggest a ruling against Miami in this case.

Just precedent and knowledge of CBA. Other than that.....

Miami pretty much knows they aren't getting an exception.

Read www.Bskball.com They explain why in great detail
