The Chicago Bulls will be holding a Tribute for Johnny Kerr, the team broadcaster in honor of his 35 years of service to the Bulls.
The Tribute will be held during halftime of the Bulls game against the Detroit Pistons on February 10th at the United Center.

Kerr Started his basket ball career with the University of Illinois Varsity team where he Scored 1299 points in his 3 years of playing for them.

In 1954 he was selected by the Syracuse Nationals from the NBA Draft and helped the Nationals to there first NBA Championship. Two years after the Nationals relocated to Philadelphia and changed there name to the 76ers Kerr was traded to the Baltimore Bullets in exchange For Walli Jones.
Although he was selected by Chicago Bulls in 1966 in the NBA expansion draft, he chose to retire and became the coach of his home towns brand new team. He had a brilliant first season, but had to retire from the bulls a couple of years later due to differences with the team owner at the time Dick Klein.
After a short time with the Phoenix Suns, he retired from coaching.

In 1974 after Klein had left the Bulls Kerr became a television color commentator for the Bulls and remained in that position till May 2008 when his duties were limited to home games, since Kerr no longer wanted to travel.

Obviously, the game against the Pistons is one the Bulls should win, not just for the regular reasons, but in Honor of Kerr.

I read an interesting post about them on Empty the Bench Seems as if they are not having the best season, putting it mildly - and since unfortunately the same could be said of the Bulls, (although less so) it seems as if there internal turmoil might work in the Bulls best interest on the game on February 10th.
