Tell me I didn't just see Michael Jordan say that he, 'liked Tim Floyd' and 'thought he was a good coach.' Is this the same Michael Jordan who dubbed Tim, 'Pink' Floyd and refused to play for him even before he was hired? Apparently, we're not supposed to remember that.

I was a Bulls fan long before Michael Jordan and will remain one long after. Michael also said that he 'was happy where he was and glad that he didn't have to deal with it. (things in Chicago)' His ego is so big that he doesn't see or care about the damage he is doing to the Wizards franchise. Go ahead, challenge for the 8th playoff spot and two years from now, after he retres yet again, Richard Hamilton and Kwame Brown will be standing there with zero support after two years of 'middle of the pack' draft picks.

Best of luck Coach Bill!

It was Jackson who called Floyd Pink.

God I wish someone would come and damage us with nine wins in a row.

Actually, Phil Jackson came up with the 'Pink' thing. MJ said he liked Floyd from the start, but was unwilling to play for an unexperienced coach...

Yeah. Thank god the Bulls are being 'damaged' with wins and stuff. Not to mention that 'big ego' of MJ. Thank goodness we just have that poor, misunderstood, basketball genius Krause. No ego there...

Many insiders, including Michael Jordan, felt Floyd was doomed from the start, as he was hired in the worst of circumstances. He was part of management's decision to prematurely demolish a championship team, allegedly because Krause and Jerry Reinsdorf felt the team was getting too old and they wanted to beat Father Time to the punch. Jordan retired shortly after Floyd was hired to replace Phil Jackson, who had resigned, but Jordan befriended Floyd early on, assuring him he had nothing against him and offering words of encouragement. He knew Floyd had a hard job.

'I don't like to elaborate on other teams' miseries or lack of success,' Jordan said. 'I've had some conversations with Tim. I liked Tim. I thought he was a qualified coach. But some situations are not made for some coaches. Unfortunately, I don't think the Chicago situation was there for Tim. Unfortunately, it took him four years to realize that.

'I think he's going to do well. I think he's going to get rid of that whole stigma of coming in after Phil Jackson and after a championship team. I don't think he became or ever had a chance to be Tim Floyd. Things were forced upon him in terms of what was existing prior to him. But I think he's better off where he is right now. I hope nobody takes this in a way that's derogatory to Chicago. It's more or less in support of Tim Floyd.'
