I haven't read the article totally, but heard about it on the Radio driving in today. Something about Mariotty doesn't make me want to read it.

From what I heard, Jordan is claiming that the Bulls would be going for Championship #9 now if they hadn't broken up. I don't know what to think about that. May be they would have won on the strike shortened season. But not more than that. What Jordan is not telling is that he badly cut the finger on his shooting hand and it has left pemanent damage in that he still can't hold a basketball very well. He even has trouble holding golf clubs. He would have been less than 100% playing with that injury not mention the aging process.

Anyway, by making these kind of claims, I think Jordan is venturing into the Wilt Chaimberlain bitter territory and it is not going to serve any purpose other than that.

I totally, 100% agree with you about Marrioti. He's always got intriging headlines but once you start reading his articles you realize the guy doesn't know shit about sports. About 2 years ago I stopped reading his articles altogether because the guy creates his own stories and controversies.

Well, did you ever think Jordan would comeback after 2 years in 1995 and lead the Bulls to 3 straight championhips? But he did. If you wanna underestimate someone, its krause not MJ. Krause is the one who didn't do what he said he would. He is the one who couldn't deliver.

You're right that just because MJ says something doesn't make it so but his comments do serve a purpose I believe and that is to further dispel the notion, often read in this ng, that the Bulls break up was some sort of group decision OR that the franchise would have arguably been better off by showing everyone the door.

It is easy in hindsight to say that the way Krause handled the situation was a mistake but it is also true that the risk the team would fall to this depth was easily foreseen. I don't Jordan would be going for title number nine at this point but I do believe the team would be infinitely more competitive than this one AND better positioned for the future. Instead we got a train wreck that will take years and years to sort itself out.
