Ever since Fizer was drafted, I always wondered if he came here to replace Brand. There were lots of trade rumors when he was drafted, but knowing Krause and his tendency to surprise everyone, maybe he thinks Fizer will be a better player than Brand in the long run. Especially since his outside shot is much better than Elton's. I hope that both players remain in Chicago for a long time, but it will only happen if Fizer adapts his game to become a sf. Both players are a coach's dream with their business-like attitudes (I have never seen Fizer complain to a ref in his college career even after a horrendus call).
I also believe that Crawford won't remain in the team for long, considering that the triangle does not depend on the point guard, and the Bulls could get by with Guyton and El-Amin who look like quality players. Imagine the following scenario, which I am writing as a possibility, not necessarily what I want to happen.
The Bulls improve over the season, and win 30 games.
The Bulls don't bother going after Webber but keep Finley in mind.
They draw the 8th overall pick.
Bulls trade Crawford + 8th pick for the #1 overall, which is used to get high-school center phenom Eddy Curry, who has already been labeled as the next Shaq.
Even if Crawford remains a Bull, I seriously doubt Krause won't try to trade up, assuming the Bulls don't win the top pick in the lottery. I see him trading either Mercer or Fizer to try to lure Finley to Chicago to fill the void. It might be an effective plan, but it won't work since Finley is staying put in Dallas.
