'Patrick: I'd carry Jeff Troop to Finals'
Patrick Ewing's scoring average is down but not his braggadocio. The Sonics' center said last night that if he were still on the Knicks, the would be frontrunners to 'come out of the East' and into the NBA Finals. 'As it is, it's wide open now,' Ewing said. Ewing, appearing live on ESPN's Up Close last night, also took a gentle poke at the Knick fans and superfan Spike lee, in particular. Told that Knick fans chanted his name during their season-opening loss Oct. 31, Ewing said, 'It always feels good, but at the same time probably were the same ones who booed me, too.' On his historic Garden return Feb. 27, Ewing, averaging 9.4 points ppg, said, 'When I run past Spike, I'll give him a smack to show him I miss him.
