The Bulls are also apparently close to a deal with the Houston Rockets to take Bryce Drew off the Rockets hands. The compensation is likely going to be a second round draft choice or a future #1, highly protected. Rockets sources would not confirm Bryce to Chicago, but an informed Bulls source says they are working on a bio packet for him.

Who is this Bryce Drew charcter?

He might help but probably not. It should be noted that the Rockets are willing to deal Drew because they feel he *can't* be an effective back-up PG. He's really a tweener that's to small to play his proper position of SG.

The Bulls really should have kept Randy Brown to help Crawford make this adjustment. Or gone out and got a vet like Muggsy Bogues or Bimbo Coles. Even gone after more expensive vets like Tim Hardaway or Mark Jackson with 2 year deals. Or how about picking up Brevin Knight in a trade? Krause is making a huge gaff here. With Drew and Crawford, it's going to be the blind leading the blind out there.

Bryce Drew would add two things for the Bulls. He is a three-point specialist. The Bulls will probably be behind a lot this year again and he could keep the games more competitive. This is what Rusty Larue and B.J. Armstrong were supposed to do last year, but obviously couldn't.

He isn't going to matchup well defensively against the top PGs, but he could add some offense off the bench. A second unit of Drew, Guyton, Artest, Fizer (if the Bulls get Rice or Smith), and a hustling center could put a lot more points on the board than the Maloney, Carr, Purdue, Ketner, Willoughby (sp?) group we saw so much of last year. We still don't know if Hawkins, Hoiberg, or Benjamin will be around very long.

The Bulls have some real hot PG prospects. But between Crawford's alleged attitude, El-Amin's size, and questions about Guyton's speed, the Bulls might not be too comfortable about the PG position.

The Crawford - Floyd scuffle was blown way out of proportion ... mostly because the media circus is always looking for dirt. If there is any uneasiness between Crawford and Floyd, it would have to be something that happened behind closed doors that no one but the team personnel is aware of. Too add Drew to the team, I think El-Amin will be traded and maybe a 2nd rounder.
