It looks like Sigi was right about 'We've initiated cutting' meaning 'He [Eddie Robinson] is practicing.' Word is that they'd like him back 'next week'. It still doesn't answer why Krause said he wanted him healthy 'by June 1st', or that he was on the verge of coming back 'next week' for some two months now.

Let's say, hypothetically, he comes back and can play 30 minutes a game. Whose minutes does he get?

If he isn't better than Mercer then he is a bust. The real victim maybe Fizer because there will be a lot of nights Artest can take the opposing 4 for some serious minutes so unless Fizer can finally put Oakley to rest we might see some Mercer-Robinson-Artest.

The whole thing is very weird. He wasn't coming back now out of nowhere he is. I don't have a lot of hope that this will last.

I think they can get some mileage out of that line-up. Ron Artest will get posted up a lot, but I think he can hold his own down there.

How is Robinson's defence supposed to be?

And then what happens to Hassell's already dwindling playing time? You've got to keep Anthony or Ollie out there to bring the ball up and set up the offence, unless you want Mercer doing that.

That's what I was thinking. If this was the NFL, I think this means his status has been updated from 'Out' to 'Questionable'.

Of course he was 'Probable' most of the first half of the season and only played a game and a half.

They could probably get Mercer, Robinson and Artest at 1, 2 and 3. Artest and Mercer could probably share ball-handling duties.

He's a 'weak-side shotblocker', meaning he can jump out of the building, but can't play d. He should be average.

One of these guys has to be traded - Mercer, Artest, Robinson or Hassell. None of them can be converted to point guard (if only because there's a big point guard already waiting in the wings in Jamal Crawford), and all of them should get minutes. And then, of course, there's Chandler, who also gets minutes at small forward. I say we trade Mercer for draft picks for a team on the verge of the playoffs and in need of another scorer (Detroit? Boston?

Anthony is by far the most effective point guard on the team. There is no reason to change that. If he gets injured I suspect Artest and Hoiberg will probably get a couple of minutes at point guard.

I think that while it is obvious he hasn't done squat in the NBA, the Bulls opened up their wallet to him because of his athleticism. In the past offseason, I remember some sports website (sorry, I can't remember which) reporting that the 6'9' Robinson runs a 4.3 40' and has a vertical leap of 48'.

Hassell has no value and I doubt many teams will offer much for Mercer, who although has shed his selfish reputation, is still regarded as a one-dimensional off guard with no range. Robinson has been injured the entire time with Chicago and I doubt teams will want to take on his multi-year contract.
