the bulls had their chance to make a big time trade when scottie was still here but that did not happen remember scottie for eddie jones fizer/artest for wally . fizer/el amin for mike bibby artest for rahim in atlanta those trade would hve made the bulls better then what they are also cartwright will not make it past 2 years as head coach for the bulls he has had a very average career but the media tries to make him look better then what he really is a good assistant nothing more also tyson might get more time but eddy is still on the bench how long will those players be here before they ask to be traded the bulls play alot of players that will not be here next year why because cartwright has that tim floyd syndrome trying to win now instead of having a very strong team for the future

Cartwright is a hand-picked Krause stooge. You think it was his idea to focus on the Triangle offense again?

If everyone is in agreement about trading Mercer/Fizer even although I strongly object. Who do you think they should try to get for them in return? Because, I'm very positive other teams will be happy to tear the hinges off the door just to get these two players. And if most Chicago fans finally get their wish then these two players are only going to come back and hurt the Bulls in the future. They might just possibly wind up getting a few rings on their fingers and thanking Chicago Bulls fans for not appreciating them and putting pressure on the management to have them traded. So trading Mercer/Fizer is only going to backfire.

From reading around a bit lately, I've noticed the common knowledge that says it's really hard to pull off trades at this time of year. Most teams are over the cap, and if they get anyone they want to be able to shed an equal salary to get underneath the cap before they have to pay the league for busting it. So guys in their last year of their contract (read: Oakley) are perfect. Guys like Mercer and Robinson are not.
Lessee, how to get yourself fired anywhere else but Chicago:
Step 1: 'Ron Artest is our OG of the future.' Step 2: Sign Ron Mercer. Step 3: 'Eddie Robinson is going to be a star.' Step 4: Draft Tyson Chandler.
*Maybe* we can get something done with Mercer in the off-season. I suggest it will be as unimportant for us (probably one of Krause's lucky second-round picks) as the Brent Barry trade to Seattle, though Barry, at least, seems to have rediscovered himself out there (not that he is anything great, but a sober, smart player on a team that counts on other people to score).
